Driller’s Intercom
A Typical Driller’s Intercom system consists of
Driller’s station, EExd, with microphone, floor switch (or knee switch) & a station selector, allowing the driller to communicate with other stations without leaving his station.
Derrickman’s station, EExd, allowing the derrickman to page and talk, hands-free directly to the driller & vice versa.
EExd stations, each with speaker, microphone, station selector and hands free operation, to allow the operator to select and page any of the other stations.
Safe area stations, each with a speaker, a microphone and station selector to allow the operator to select and page any of the other stations.
‘Hub’ Processor Unit, housed in a stainless steel enclosure, which must be installed in a ‘safe area’. A hazardous area version is available.
The system is fully flexible:
- The driller can talk to any single station
- Any single station can page and talk to any other station
- Conference calls between all stations
